In May of 2011, my mom and I threw a bridal shower for my sister-in-law, Katie. I designed the invitations and enclosed a recipe card so that each guest could bring their favorite recipe to share with the bride. At the party, the guests introduced themselves and the recipe they brought to share. It was a great way to get everyone involved!
In preparation for the shower, I was on the hunt for the perfect box to hold all the recipes Katie was going to receive. I wanted something unique, personalized and classy. I stumbled upon a seller on Etsy who sold bamboo recipe boxes and could custom engrave it. I created the "Kitchen Icons" design for the top of the box and put Katie's new name on the front. It was a big hit at the shower!
In the following months, I was able to find a supplier for the boxes, get access to a laser engraver nearby, and I was off and running. How fun it has been to learn how to engrave the boxes and create new designs along the way. I hope you enjoy my recipe boxes as well!
